Affordable Housing Trust reduces CPC request to $100K in compromise on Rotunda funding

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Affordable Housing Trust votes to reduce CPC funding request. The Trust voted 5-1 on February 17 to cut its Community Preservation Committee appropriation from $200,000 to $100,000, redirecting the difference to the Rotunda Project after it lost expected grants. Treasurer Joan McDonald reported total funds of $1,745,907.96 and a $300,000 certificate of deposit maturing in April 2026.
The Trust committed to a community outreach campaign and FAQ document before Annual Town Meeting, with Chair Rosemary Costello leading efforts to educate residents on affordable housing basics. Director of Land Management Marc Resnick agreed to research whether the Moses Hill property, under Conservation control since 2006, could be restored for potential development.
