Bike Committee elects Frey as co-chair, adopts quarterly tracking

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester-by-the-Sea Bike Committee elects Frey as co-chair, adopts quarterly tracking. Brian Frey was elected co-chair and Peter Chobanian as clerk following a member's resignation. The committee voted to adopt a shared quarterly project tracker to improve accountability and priority management.

Chuck Dam of the Department of Public Works briefed the committee on capital projects including sidewalk installation on Atwater Avenue, bike lane improvements on northern School Street, and future redesign opportunities at Bennett Street and Pine/Bennett intersection. DPW also discussed sidewalk snow operations, highlighting the recurring problem of private contractors plowing snow back onto sidewalks after municipal crews clear them.
