MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester bike committee plans spring ride/walk audit for infrastructure evaluation. The Bike and Pedestrian Committee met February 18 and unanimously approved prior meeting minutes. Members reviewed a Massachusetts Special Commission on Micromobility report with 16 recommendations on device regulation and infrastructure funding.
The committee discussed MassDOT Complete Streets grant opportunities but determined no projects were grant-ready by deadline. Bike lane pavement markings installed three years ago are significantly faded, prompting discussion of a regular refresh cycle for potential work on School Street, Atwater Avenue, Norwood Avenue, and the Pine/Bennett/Bridge/Central corridor.
