Board of Health approves 2026 mosquito control program

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester-by-the-Sea Board of Health unanimously approves 2026 mosquito control program. Participation continues in the Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management District program under the same provisions as 2025, allowing residents to opt out of spraying. NEMMC representatives reported nine residents requested treatments on 62 properties last year, with virus monitoring starting mid-June for mosquitoes and mid-July for humans.
Free services include property site inspections, repellent guidance, and tire collection up to 10 per property. The board also approved March 12 minutes and discussed data collection and digitization efforts under the Public Health Excellence Grant.
