COASTAL STREAM TEAM SCHEDULES SUMMER WATER QUALITY MONITORING

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — The Coastal Stream Team scheduled summer water quality monitoring and volunteer work coordinated with the Board of Health. The team will conduct the first of three eDNA fish collections at three Sawmill Brook locations for analysis by GMGI in Gloucester, while the Town-hired shellfish survey team returns May 18 to Black Beach to complete its work. Susan Marsh reported the Board of Health requested 2018 EPA data on human-sourced chemicals in Kettle Cove Marsh, which the team provided; testing will resume this summer.
Purple loosestrife removal is planned for Dexter Pond on Saturdays July 25 and August 1, with water quality training May 27-28 and marine invasive species monitoring at White Beach on three dates.
