MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Conservation Commission elects Gang and Oettinger as co-chairs, debates major housing proposal. Chair Steve Gang and Vice Chair Henry Oettinger were unanimously elected as co-chairs of the Conservation Commission at its June 9 meeting. The Commission also issued a negative determination of applicability for a covered porch project at 15 Eaglehead Road and authorized $2,500 for initial hazardous tree removal at Powder House Trail.

Director of Land Management Marc Resnick briefed the Commission on a proposed 40B development of approximately 285 housing units on the Gordon Woods property, which would require multiple permits before the Conservation Commission as it lies near wetlands and constitutes primary watershed land for the town's drinking water source.
