MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Open Space and Recreation Committee approves $2,500 for Powder House Hill tree removal. The committee narrowed the budget to focus exclusively on trees presenting imminent hazard following an arborist consultation. Olga Hayes reported that new parking paving at Newport Park has been completed; the committee agreed to consult the Housing Authority on public-space designation and maintenance responsibilities.

At Dexter Pond, the trail has been blazed with yellow markers and light maintenance completed, with the committee discussing a reroute over the existing dam to reduce seasonal wetness and expensive boardwalk construction. GIS mapping of town-owned and non-conservation land is nearing completion with approximately 18 maps in draft form, with final acreage calculations pending before the next meeting.
