Committee plans May bike events, audits existing racks

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester Bike and Pedestrian Committee planned three May school bike rides for students. Committee Co-Chairs Brian Frey and Dana Vermilye outlined support for Safe Routes to School rides on May 11 at Coach Field and Brook Street, May 18 from Pleasant and Pine streets, and May 31 at Masconomo Park for Kids PMC. Volunteer roles include helmet checks, swag distribution, and ride participation.

The committee also inventoried approximately 20 to 25 bike racks across town and discussed developing a Bike Map for planning and community communication.
