Conservation Commission approves Tappan Street infrastructure overhaul

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester Conservation Commission closes hearings, approves Tappan Street utility upgrade. Chair Steve Gang's commission unanimously approved the town's comprehensive Tappan Street infrastructure project featuring a new TideFlex check valve and stormwater treatment unit to prevent saltwater intrusion and reduce harbor debris discharge from 120-year-old cast iron systems. The commission also approved revised home additions at 44 Norwood Avenue, reduced construction at 2 Old Neck Road, and continued seawall work at 18 Boardman.
Certificates of Compliance were issued for Tappan Street and 1 Beaver Dam Road, bringing the total to six permits closed; a $2,492 annual beaver-control maintenance agreement was also approved unanimously.
