Council on Aging advances Senior Center design, seeks federal funding

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester-by-the-Sea Council on Aging advances senior center with three-million-dollar federal grant bid. Director Mary Miner reported 193 people served year-to-date with 1,648 units of service, and council members were directed to lobby Sen. Markey's office for federal funding.
An architectural contract with Olsen and Lewis is expected next week, with 30 percent of drawings due by August. The Friends of the Council on Aging has pledged $250 per month in lunch subsidies to keep meal costs low for seniors.
