Council on Aging hears Senior Center redesignated as community space, cost revised upward

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester Council on Aging learns Senior Center redesignated as community space with $7 million cost. Director Mary Miner reported on ongoing programming including lunch activities, museum trips, and AARP tax preparation services, while one van driver retired and per diem coverage continues. The Friends reported $90,000 on hand with donations of $21,250 since September 2025.
The Senior Center project, originally estimated at $2-3 million, will provide seniors dedicated use from nine a.m. to three p.m. with community access during other hours.
