MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Facilities Planning Committee advances Senior/Community Center to design development. Chair Joe Beggan and members voted unanimously to approve July 15 minutes, then heard a presentation from Town Engineer Nate Desrosiers and Olsen Lewis + Architects defining the scope split between Town and Mason Lodge, with Town handling structural work, fire protection, mechanical systems, and site work while Masons manage interior finishes and their own systems. A basement storage option is under study pending water-table analysis; design revisions moved the front addition out of the FEMA floodplain.
Members requested value-engineering pricing both with and without the porch. Cost estimates are due by September 4, with a joint Select Board and Finance Committee presentation planned for around September 14-15.
