Finance Committee approves $18M school district budget with modest increase

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester Finance Committee approves $18M regional school budget with 5.4 percent increase. Chair Sarah Mellish and the Committee unanimously backed the Manchester Essex Regional School District operating budget of $18,058,187.50, along with a $2,573,924.16 capital budget and the North Shore Agricultural and Technical School budget of $171,435. Finance Director Andrea Mainville reported current-year Snow and Ice Removal costs running $200,000 over budget and legal expenses short by $100,000, with plans to seek a warrant article at Annual Town Meeting to cover the deficit.
