Finance Committee approves eight FY27 operating budgets

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Finance Committee approves $4.9M in FY27 operating budgets. Chair Sarah Mellish led the committee to unanimous approval of eight operating budgets including the DPW Highway Budget ($1,548,377), Enterprise Water ($1,395,359), Enterprise Sewer ($1,229,588), Land Management ($277,680), Facilities ($194,654), Town Hall and Common ($71,900), and Street Lighting ($55,000). The Snow Removal Budget of $145,000 passed 5-1 over member Peter Twining's objection regarding insufficient equipment repair funding.

The committee deferred the Sanitation Budget pending a new trash hauling contract proposal expected within weeks, while discussing a proposed $16.5 million PFAS Water Treatment Project with bids expected before Annual Town Meeting.
