Harbor Advisory Committee approves prior minutes, hears drawbridge delay and project updates

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Harbor Advisory Committee approves March minutes and receives drawbridge and project updates. Chair Carl Doane and six members (one by Zoom) heard from Harbormaster Bion Pike that the drawbridge will close for roughly two weeks in May. Four harbor projects are headed to Town Meeting: Reed Park expansion, Fisherman's Facility, Rotunda, and Dredging.
The Seaport Economic Council declined a grant for the Rotunda, leaving the town responsible for the full estimated cost of $2.8 million. The Army Corps of Engineers is expected to approve 40 to 50 moorings in Area 7 within one month. A Downtown Improvement Committee brochure for visiting boaters was presented, with the committee recommending it be waterproof and printing limited due to anticipated harbor facility changes next year.
