MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Historic District Commission approved two applications affecting Manchester's District G properties. Chair Rosemary Costello and commissioners unanimously cleared three double hung windows for 1 Pine Street, finding them consistent with last year's historical renovation. At 9 Ashland Avenue, the Commission voted 5-0 (one member unable to vote due to technical difficulties) to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for a new two-family building designed to complement the existing 1800s Carpenter Gothic structure, conditional on narrowing east and north elevation windows to match existing proportions and screening HVAC units from public view.
