Manchester CPC backs $200,000 for affordable housing trust

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Manchester CPC affirms $200,000 for affordable housing trust despite Finance Committee push to cut it in half. The Committee voted 7 to 1 on January 29 to stand by the allocation for fiscal year 2027, with only member Dean Nahatis opposing. The Finance Committee had recommended reducing the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust funding to $60,000 and redirecting the $140,000 difference to rotunda restoration, but CPC Chairman Jack Burke said residents have the right to decide at Town Meeting.
The Committee also voted unanimously to release $27,100 to Parks & Recreation immediately for signage, equipment, and photographs rather than wait until July 1.
