Open Space Panel Charts Western Woods Conservation Path
Open Space & Recreation Committee · Meeting of April 23, 2026
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Open Space Committee prioritizes Western Woods conservation mapping. Co-chair Steve Gang's committee designated the western and Beverly side of Western Woods, Eaglehead wildlife area, and Weems parcels as priority zones for potential Article 97 conservation, citing accessibility and vulnerability to development. Amy Blondin will estimate costs for detailed GIS documentation overlaying vernal pools, wetlands, and streams to guide a conservation case.
The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and scheduled its next session for May 21.
