Parks Committee approves canteen extension, events, and CPA park signage funding.

Parks and Recreation Committee · Meeting of January 28, 2026

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Parks and Recreation Committee unanimously approves beach canteen extension and special events. Chair Muffin Driscoll and the committee voted unanimously to extend Captain Dusty's beach canteen contract for one year rather than the standard three-year term due to the operator's retirement considerations. The committee also unanimously approved the UCan Sports Half Marathon for September 13, 2026, and the North Shore Kids PMC Ride on May 31, 2026, at Masconomo Park.

The committee agreed to accept increased Community Preservation Committee funding of $16,000 for park signage upgrades using granite posts, up from the original $8,000 request.
