Planning Board advances downtown and senior housing articles for town meeting

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Planning Board moves five zoning articles toward annual town meeting. The board unanimously approved a downtown zoning revision excluding 37 Beach Street from the Town Center district, along with a senior housing article setting minimum lot sizes from half acre to one acre by district, an inn article permitting facilities with 12 rooms or less, an ADU article on behalf of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and a driveway entrance bylaw amendment. Director of Land Management Marc Resnick was authorized to finalize the downtown article and submit it to the Select Board.
The board also unanimously selected consultant Karen Berg at $20,000 to update the town's Housing Production Plan, to be funded through Community Preservation Committee reserves.
