MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Planning Board elects Olney vice chair; continues wireless tower hearing to June 8. Chair Sarah Creighton presided as the Board welcomed new member John Harden and elected Christopher Olney as Vice Chair unanimously. The Board continued a public hearing on Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless's request to modify a wireless communications monopole at 17 Ashland Avenue pending confirmation of financial surety bonds from 2002 and legal counsel's response on federal eligible facilities status.
Housing consultant Karen Sunnarborg presented findings from the draft Housing Production Plan, showing Manchester has 115 subsidized units against a need for 114 additional units to meet the state's 10 percent affordability threshold, with the Board agreeing to hold a community housing forum before June 22 and to submit written comments on draft strategies. The Board scheduled a public hearing on revised Driveway Regulations for June 22 and discussed a town-initiated General Code project to reformat and improve searchability of the Zoning Bylaw.
