MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Planning Board voted unanimously on land exchange and advanced sign-bylaw revision. The board endorsed an Approval Not Required plan for a mutual land exchange between Albert and Alyson Steg at 19 University Lane and Montserrat Vera-Llonch at 16 Overledge Road, with each property exchanging 0.013-acre triangular parcels to align legal boundaries. In a public forum, the board discussed and agreed to substantial revisions to the town's Sign By-Law, including reducing maximum wall sign sizes in the General District to 30 square feet from 50, allowing businesses two signs by right instead of one, and establishing a mandatory Building Department permit process with Historic District Commission review.
Chair Sarah Creighton, Director of Land Management Marc Resnick, and John Harden were directed to incorporate the changes and transmit the revised draft to the Select Board for informational review on October 5.
