MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — The Ranked Choice Voting Study Committee unanimously elected Rob Beatty Chair and Byron Winn Clerk at its inaugural meeting. The five-member panel adopted a four-part research framework addressing reasons to adopt and reject ranked choice voting, operational feasibility, and recommendations, with a report due to the Select Board by late January 2027. Committee members will conduct individual research for discussion at a September 10 meeting to inform a planned public forum after the mid-term elections, and Town Clerk Christine Dixon will coordinate the Committee's outreach to Massachusetts municipalities with existing RCV systems.
