Select Board confirms new police chief, approves utility and propane licenses

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Select Board confirms Lieutenant Marc McCoy as Manchester police chief. Town Administrator Antonio Barletta presented a recruitment process that drew eleven applications, narrowed through written questionnaires and two interview rounds to two finalists. Retiring Chief Todd Fitzgerald confirmed McCoy's six and a half years as second-in-command and readiness to assume leadership.
All five board members unanimously approved the appointment. In related business, the board unanimously approved a 7,240-gallon LP-gas storage license for Essex County Club at 153 School Street and a utility pole permit for National Grid and Verizon New England on School Street.
