Senior/Community Center condo purchase finalized; $8M renovation planned

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Facility Planning Committee reviews Senior/Community Center design phase. The committee discussed the recently finalized condominium purchase and design strategy for an $8 million Senior/Community Center expansion project. Town Engineer and Facilities Manager Nate Desrosiers presented building condition information and outlined interim ADA compliance improvements, including an accessible bathroom and front walkway adjustment.

The committee aims to complete field work and produce a cost estimate by late August, with a possible November 2026 Town Meeting if grant and fundraising outcomes are finalized early. Members also discussed moving future meetings to evening hours to accommodate increased workload.
