MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Sustainability Committee launches public education on recycling and composting. Co-Chairs Sandy Rogers and Annie McBride are developing materials and outreach strategies to boost use of the Black Earth facility and track household participation, with potential involvement from Manchester Memorial School students. DPW Project Engineer Nate Desrosiers reported the town is negotiating a one-year extension of its current waste disposal contract while exploring alternative vendors and studying individual resident accounts for trash financing.
The committee is planning spring events including curbside tree collection, string light recycling, a library gear swap, and a May town cleanup day.
