MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Sustainability Committee charts spring agenda around water quality and community events. Co-Chairs Annie McBride and Sandy Rogers heard an update on the Massachusetts Oyster Project's upweller operation in Manchester Harbor and discussed plans for a May 17 town cleanup from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in partnership with Parks and Recreation. Member Max Messervy reported that state green communities official Dillan Patel indicated Manchester could pursue Climate Leader designation to access significant grant funding for sustainable improvements.
Rogers proposed each committee member identify and research a specific recycling, composting, or sustainability topic to develop strategy around.
