MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — The Sustainability Committee is pursuing a reef-safe sunscreen grant and multiple summer environmental outreach initiatives. Co-Chairs Sandy Rogers and Annie McBride reported that the spring town cleanup showed marked improvement, collecting 400 pounds of trash compared to 700 pounds in 2025. Rogers submitted a Hooper Fund grant request for a reef-safe sunscreen station at Singing Beach; the fund expressed interest pending details on long-term management.

The committee is arranging public tours of local wastewater, water treatment, and compost facilities to educate residents. Committee members are also conducting outreach through summer events and composting education, with three members departing as their terms expire.
