Sustainability Committee sets May town cleanup, explores oyster project tour

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Sustainability Committee approves May 17 town cleanup from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Co-Chairs Annie McBride and Sandy Rogers led discussion of potential educational programs, including a tour of an oyster upweller in Masconomo Park possibly aligned with the August 1 Festival by the Sea. Town Engineer Nate Desrosiers reported that Manchester upgraded streetlight bulbs five years ago with a dimming schedule for late night and early morning hours.
The committee also discussed Earth Month programming for April and outreach at Crosbys in June to promote compostable serviceware education.
